Cambridgeshire County Council

Cambridgeshire County Council is a local government organisation covering Cambridge City and four other districts. It is governed by 61 locally elected Councillors and has a remit for social care, schools, public health, waste management, libraries, travel and transport. Cambridgeshire has a population of 650,000 of which 125,000 live in Cambridge.

Cambridge is a university city with high levels of urban and employment growth, and is recognised as having the highest levels of cycle use in the UK. Our team’s objective is to deliver new and innovative cycling infrastructure throughout the city and the county to enable “more people to cycle more safely, more often”. Currently 57% of residents cycle at least once a week and we aim to have 40% of trips in the city centre made by bike by 2023.

CCOC is the National Focal Point for the United Kingdom of CityChangerCargoBike.
