Waste collection in San Sebastian happens from now on with electric tricyclesIn San Sebastian, the company which is responsible for waste collection and street cleaning will work from now on with electric tricycles.
San Sebastian, partner in the Cyclelogistics project, continues to be a frontrunner on the use of sustainable vehicles.
The city recently presented its new cleaning plant, which brings the total of used vehicles to clean the streets and collect waste to 116. One of the new innovations is the use of electric sweepers, which will be allocated to areas like the Old Town and the Roman City area. 13 electric tricycles will enable operators to cover more areas, and improve their mobility.
The tricycles will increase the service, without harming the environment and with improving the labour quality of employees. The tricycles, called Ethnic Garbi Electric, are manufactured by Ethnic Urban Bikes.
Ethnic Urban Bikes is a family company that manufactures all its products in the Basque Country. It started marketing its models in 2013 and has since managed to get into various outlets throughout the Spanish geography, fine shops specializing in urban cycling or traditional establishments.
The Garbi Electric has the most advanced technology, and has five levels of assistance, providing power up to 250 W.
