Amsterdam has an low emission zone for vans and it's a huge success

Since January 2017, the city of Amsterdam in the Netherlands has created a low emission zone for delivery vans. First results show that it is a huge success.

The city of Amsterdam has denied access to trucks which are older than 17 years. The first measurements show impressive results: the amount of polluting rides has fallen with 2/3 over a period of four months.

Fines are not given yet, only warnings: the city wants to allow people to find another solution. From May 2017 offenders will have to pay 90 euro.
