Utrecht has three waste collection stations. Inhabitants of the city can bring their waste, like furniture, electronics, metals, etc. by cargo bikes.

Each waste station has a cargo bike on loan for people who don’t have a car and needs to bring their bulky waste. This service is available since 2018 and it was an initiative of the City Department of Waste Collection. Only the first year, the cargo bike was used more than 500 time.

The service is free and everyone can reserve a bike for half a day.
